Looking for a reliable, experienced and loving dog sitter during your holiday? Look no further!
Would you like to go on holiday, but can’t bring your dog? Bring your furry friend to me. I regularly take care of Billie (pictured above), my friends’ 18 month old labradoodle, and of his caramel-coloured brother Balu from the same litter. I’ve also taken care of a cocker spaniel, a maltipoo, a Mexican rescue and several other labradoodles. I dog sit only one dog at a time, which gets the full VIP (Very Important Pup) treatment, with lots of attention, cuddles and playtime.
*) I’m most experienced with labradoodles, but other small and medium-sized dogs are also welcome!
My name is Sander (52) and I work as a travel writer. In my spare time, during the school holidays, I love to take care of doggies in my own apartment (1st floor, with a fenced-off terrace). When I’m not travelling, I work from home, which means that I can also take care of dogs with separation anxiety. There are no other pets at the house. I live in Amsterdam-West, close to two large dog-friendly parks. And I will gladly take your furry friend for a trip to the forest or beach.
“The best dog sitter you could wish for”
“Sander is the best dog sitter you could wish for. He knows a lot about dogs and is very caring and involved as a dog sitter. Every time our dog Billie goes there, he almost jumps into his arms. Sander is the dog sitter you are looking for!” – Sander and Reinier, owners of Billie

“Balu immediately felt at home”
“Sander took such great care of our dog Balu, while we were out of the country for ten days. He is very comfortable around dogs and put both Balu and me at ease very quickly. Balu settled in and made himself at home in no time. I had no concerns leaving Balu with Sander. I got sent regular updates, photos and videos which was very reassuring. I came back to a very happy dog. I would highly recommend Sander to anyone looking for a dog sitter.” – Laura, owner of Balu

“Moos got plenty of attention”
“Immediately from the first introduction, Moos was at ease with Sander. Also because he discovered all sorts of goodies at Sander’s place, from a sniffing mat and a fluffy bed to toys and balls, as well as a nice big couch to jump on and snuggle. Moos is not a fan of rainy weather, but regularly still got outside to play fetch. Sander sent updates through WhatsApp and at my request also wrote reports in Moos’s notebook. Lovely to read back. Moos got plenty of attention, judging by the videos and photos I was sent. Thanks to this, I had a very relaxed holiday. I can only recommend Sander as a caring, reliable and very sweet dog sitter.” – Rosita, owner of Moos
“Our pup was super well looked after”
“We left our 6 month-old bernadoodle Corto with Sander on King’s Day and he was so well taken care of. Sander offered us to meet a couple weeks earlier to get to know Corto, then on the day he shared regular updates. Our puppy was super well looked after and had a great day with several walks in the park and many cuddles. We are very grateful and really recommend Sander.” – Steph and Fred, owners of Corto
Doggy gear
As I’ve been dog sitting for a while, I already have lots of stuff that you won’t need to supply – making it a breeze for the owner to drop the dog off.
Eat: food bowls, sniffing mat, snack ball, wobbly egg, Kong, snacks
Chill: donut bed, blankets, foldable crate
Play: stuffed toys, squeaky toys, floss ropes, balls
Out: lead, poop bags, portable food bowls, drink bottle, ebike with basket for dogs up to 20 kilos
Care: pet dryer, dog towels, paw cleaner, shampoo, conditioner, brush (Activet groen), comb, scissors, detangling spray, honey ointment, teeth-cleaning finger pads, ear cleaning pads and more.
Basically, all you need to do, is drop off the dog with its collar/harness and lead, plus food supply for the duration of the stay, and let me take care of the rest. Of course it’s advisable to also bring a dog bed or blanket with his/her scent and your dog’s favourite toy(s).
“Extremely happy with Sander as our dog sitter”
“We are extremely happy with Sander as a dog sitter for our bouncy boy Buddy. It feels so familiar we don’t have to worry for a moment, and because of all the attention Sander gives him, Buddy instantly felt at home. It’s great to see how fond he is of all the doggies he takes care of. Compliments for how he deals with our Buddy, because admittedly he is not always the easiest. Thank you very much!” – John & Tiny, owners of Buddy
“Caring, reliable and loving dog sitter”
“Sander oozes love for dogs and is an extremely caring, reliable and loving dog sitter. Beertje, our labradoodle, was crazy about him from the very first moment. Sander is very experienced and also has a lot of dog supplies at home, which is great. We felt very confident leaving Beertje in Sander’s care and we enjoyed that he kept us informed through messages and photos. Are you looking for a great dog sitter? You’ve found him!” – Stephanie, owner of Beertje
